How the Internet has taken off in denouncing the WTBTS is amazing!
I have recently enjoyed stuff posted by R Spike, Daniel Wiebe, Christian Katja, JWSurvey, Apostate Chick, DoUrResearch, etc. Great material!
WOW!!!

i was a member of this community a long time ago and have lurked for years.
well, i am back and still thoroughly conflicted, with my heart/loyalties as divided as ever.
please welcome me back, hear me out, and make me feel as welcomed as before.. the wtbts has changed so very much in recent years that i feel trapped in a completely different religion altogether.

My basic story is that I, being a multigenerational JW, cannot emotionally handle losing my loved ones if I walk out on this religion. So, I am making the best out of this incarceration. I can honestly say that in the congregations I am not alone so we of like minds keep each other company while enduring the misery of the Organization.
Good to be back.

just heard from a friend that a nearby body of elders in their congregation have decided that anybody who is on facebook will not be able to have privleges in their congregation.. hilarious!.

Metro area, Spanish congregation.
I come here less and less as time goes by. Recently I'm realizing that no matter what I expose here as being the real truth, disgruntled ex-JWs will see/hear things how they want and put their own twisted spin on it.
You all are absolutely right, as right is the Org; I shouldn't be here.
So long disgruntled ex-JW liars!!!
See you back at the KH when you scape Satan's grip!

Sounds like the usual 'third party/taken out of context/hearsay' wrong info. I've never heard anything like it, and I'm a regular meeting attendant. Better find out for yourself.
All I've heard from the platform is for JWs in general to stop wasting precious time in these social networks and use such time for more constructive things.

the thread about the cross got me to thinking about this - i think i read somewhere that the earliest known christian relic was a mosaic display of the fish symbol - which was taken as a sign of christianity.. has the watchtower ever explained why they avoid the use of this symbol?.
have they ever explained why it is ok for them to use the watchtower as a symbol but not this?.
That I know of, I don't see any of our vehicles with any symbols attached to show that we're JWs. Actions speak louder than any symbol.
Strange how so many convicts and people of questionable character have the symbol of the cross hanging on their necks, tattooed on, or showing on their vehicles, when their demeanor and behavior is not Christ-like whatsoever!
We're best known by our preaching work, and that's exactly how we like it!

well, he was recently busted for child pornography.
wonder what his congregation thinks now...especially the ones who testified on his behalf?!.

Once I attended a congregation where a child molestor would go once in a while. All brothers and sisters were alerted and children would not be allowed to go to the bathroom alone or even get near him. That disfellowshipped pervert was watched like a hawk when he did attend the meetings!
He stopped attending. I'm sure he's one of those that says there's no real love in the Org. It's alright, though; those sickos are dangerous and belong OUT!

And the kids? Well behaved, disciplined, accomplished; model children in all sense of the word! What do you know?! Perhaps that's the right way. The strict discipline way!
No, she's not a JW.

i don't usually post regarding my personal relationship, but i need some help.. i've been married for 20+ years (married young, both of us raised as witnesses), and my wife and i have kids.
my wife feels like i've disappointed her, made a fool of her, and betrayed her when i stopped being a witness.
other than the witness-thing we seem to have a pretty good marriage, but she can't get over the fact that i'm never going to be a witness again.
I'm not here that often really as I'm quite busy in my wholesome JW life. However, somebody once in a while has to unveil all the lies and half-truths spoken here, starting with the mere naming of the website, "Jehovahs-Witness.net" no less, thus tricking so many into it.
Very crafty indeed! Just like the originator of all lies and deceit.
Good night!

please read and i will tell you now this was it was like for me !.
kingdom halls are a hellish memory for me.
i grew up as a jehovah's witness from the age of 9 until i fought my way to freedom at age 18. i recall children as young as a year old being beaten repeatedly for not sitting still during services...some sessions, called assemblies, were 6 hours long and lasted for 3-5 days in succession.. my nephew was one of many who felt the literal sting of the watchtower's stance of "spare the rod, spoil the child.
Hey,
2 meetings each week of 1:45 mins long, give me a break, children in time learn to behave and pay attention. Parents just need to be smart about it; and, yes, for the most difficult ones, a good swat in the tush won't kill them and it's NOT child abuse!

Listen all, can you all come down and face the reality of things?!
A good swat in the butt for misbehaving is NOT child abuse; such form of discipline never killed anyone. It teaches respect, discipline and self-control.
And if the parents are smart about it, they don't even need to give said swat in the tush, they figure out a way to keep the child paying attention some other way. There's this examplary family in the KH that plays games with the kids by asking them to count the # of times certain word is said during the parts given from the platform and by preparing comments for them to offer during certain sessions.
Now compare to the children that are left to do whatever they want in the name of being 'children'; it's atrocious how many religions have to hold separate gatherings for the children, just because the parents won't be bothered to teach them to sit still and pay attention. And to see how those same undiscipline children behave towards their parents and authority in general while in public is horrendous!
Children sure pay attention for hours to cartoons or Disney movies; they can sure stand to behave properly at our meetings.
Stop the silly drama already!
